Microgen Aptitude - Web Services

Microgen Aptitude creates applications that conform to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as a web service or by orchestrating web services. Microgen Aptitude applications utilise industry standards such as XML, SOAP and WSDL and can interoperate with any other web services or third party web service orchestration tools, including those running BPEL scripts.

Web Services Orchestration and SOA promote agility and reuse of organisational business processes. An SOA that focuses on web services can only truly deliver on this promise, however, when combined with BPM, Business Rules and core integration functionality. This is because not all organisational business processing can or should be exposed or exchanged via the Internet and also because web services orchestration in itself does not provide all the functionality needed to deliver composite applications. Together, Web Services, BPM, Business Rules and Integration technologies provide the functionality necessary for organisations to confidently and effectively run and control their business operations and to adapt rapidly to changing market conditions.

When used for Web Services Orchestration, Microgen Aptitude acts as an Enterprise Application Bus in that externally generated web services (i.e. those generated using other third party tools and languages) are called and coordinated from within Microgen Aptitude business processes. When used in this manner, Microgen Aptitude is able to combine standard service orchestration tasks with other tasks such as data processing, transaction control and integration with forms and workflow. Microgen Aptitude allows users to build these composite applications using a graphic user interface that both models and directly executes the process flows.
