Microgen Aptitude - Integration
The Microgen Aptitude Business Process Management Suite includes comprehensive and powerful integration facilities. The suite contains BPM, Business Rules, Forms, BAM and Web Services functionality, all modelled, executed and controlled by a single graphic interface, sitting over a data driven model. Crucially, Microgen Aptitude supports a service oriented architecture (SOA), meaning that the application is able to make use of other programs implemented as 'services'. The integrated nature of Microgen Aptitude makes it ideally suited for the development of complex customised solutions and composite applications that require the means to transmit and receive data to and from other products.
Microgen Aptitude has a number of 'Adaptors' available with the product which allow business processes to connect to Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server databases; ASCII or EBCDIC files in CSV, fixed length, SWIFT or XML format; messaging systems including IBM MQ and Microsoft MQ; third party libraries or DLL's; and industry standard data sources such as Reuters.
Microgen Aptitude can generate other adaptors on demand, providing a software development kit which programmers can use to produce their own adaptors. The kit includes full documentation, templates and source code.
The adaptors used within Microgen Aptitude allow full transaction handling to be implemented where appropriate, for example, with 'xa' compliant databases or messaging systems, the user can choose to implement single phase or two phase commit and to specify the transaction size. This ensures full data integrity as well as tuning for high performance. In addition, Microgen Aptitude utilises 'bulk data loading' when high performance is required (where supported by the database, e.g. Oracle).
Microgen Aptitude is able to process very complex XML structures, which often prove difficult for many other tool sets and products. Examples include the XBRL formats favoured by the European Union and the FpML formats used within the finance industry.
When taken with the very high transaction throughput available within Microgen Aptitude, the above facilities can be used as an extremely powerful ETL tool. Simple mapping of input data to output data with any necessary transformations can be accomplished at speeds in excess of 150 million transactions per hour.
