Microgen Aptitude - Business Rules
The Microgen Aptitude business rules engine benefits from the knowledge gained from over ten years of implementations in major financial institutions. Specifically designed to provide rapid and transparent development of highly complex business logic, it meets the needs of high volume processing and decision intensive environments.
The Microgen Aptitude Business Process Management Suite contains BPM, Integration, Forms, BAM and Web Services functionality, all written under the same architecture and using the same user interface, language and data model. The integrated nature of Microgen Aptitude makes it ideally suited for the development of customised solutions and composite applications operating in environments that interact, coordinate and interface directly with legacy systems and/or service calls.
In order to achieve high levels of visibility, flexibility and performance, Microgen Aptitude uses a data driven model, ideally suited to the representation of both business and process logic using simple block diagrams. These diagrams do not have the restrictions imposed by procedural languages, where all processes must be embodied within a single serial process, but allow for the representation of parallel processes.
There are four very direct benefits of this architecture:
- The graphical nature of the rule and business process nodes is easy to understand and work with for business analysts and business users
- Collaboration between IT and business analysts is promoted as both are looking at and working from the same environment
- The relationship and interaction between business rules and business process logic is straightforward since the logic and nodes are linked together graphically and are all written in the same language
- Use of the data driven model results in significantly improved performance and scalability, making Microgen Aptitude ideal for environments requiring very high levels of volume transaction processing and control
- The graphic representation of a business rule or process is executed without requiring the creation of any source code
